We are seeking a passionate and experienced Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist to design, develop, and deliver impactful learning experiences within the addiction’s recovery space. This role is central to our mission of supporting individuals in recovery, engaging community stakeholders, and empowering partner organisations through transformative education.
You will create inclusive and evidence-based learning programs for a variety of audiences, including people in recovery, support staff, external partners, and community stakeholders. Your work will directly contribute to reducing stigma, enhancing recovery pathways, and building informed, compassionate communities.

You’ll work alongside individuals and communities to boost “recovery capital” – things like social support, skills, wellbeing, and meaningful activities – using a personalised, strength-based approach. You’ll:
• Help people build strong foundations for recovery through access to learning, social opportunities, and community activities.
• Organise events and co-ordinate volunteer opportunities.
• Use Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) to empower people to lead their own recovery.
• Encourage involvement in Revival Newcastle and help co-produce exciting community-led projects.
• Support access to education, training, and job opportunities by teaming up with local partners.
• Help people find secure, sustainable housing.
• Inspire individuals to reconnect with their communities and live full, meaningful lives.
• Make sure recovery is inclusive and accessible, especially for those in areas of deprivation or facing social exclusion.
• Promote recovery as a journey driven by community, inclusion, and hope.
• Consistently gather data to demonstrate impact.
